Head of Chuvashia Oleg Nikolaev yesterday, April 4, after Vladimir Putin presidium meetings The State Council of the Russian Federation on the development of the country’s industry in the context of sanctions pressure proposed “to provide for conscripts from among graduates of institutions of secondary vocational and higher education the possibility of alternative service in their specialty at enterprises of the military-industrial complex (MIC) for at least five years, and also to provide such graduates with a three-year deferment from conscription if they work in their specialty at military-industrial complex enterprises.
Mr. Nikolaev believes that his proposals will help solve the personnel problem at defense industry enterprises, Kommersant was told about this in the press service of the head of the region.
“Both options are economically beneficial both for the economy of the republic and the country as a whole, since graduates become professionals either in special equipment or by profession. In addition, if they are drafted into the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, these young people will be able to be technically competent specialists,” Oleg Nikolaev explained.
The head of the region noted that “since November 2022, the number of defense industry enterprises in Chuvashia has increased from 7 to 47”, and “the issue of providing them with personnel is especially acute”, specifying that “now 26 thousand people are employed in such industries in the republic, the current the need for specialists reaches 1.77 thousand people, of which 1.37 thousand are for job vacancies.”
As the press secretary of the head of Chuvashia, Boris Krasnov, explained to Kommersant, Oleg Nikolaev’s updated comments on the proposals submitted by him will be published in the near future.
