On September 21, the inauguration ceremony of the head of Buryatia, Alexei Tsydenov, took place, who, following the results of a single voting day on September 11, won the majority of votes – 86.23% with a turnout of 39.47%. According to the press service of the regional government, Alexei Tsydenov took an oath in two languages - Russian and Buryat – in front of representatives of the executive and legislative authorities, public figures and famous residents of the republic.

“Today, for the second time, I take an oath to serve the people of Buryatia and conscientiously fulfill the duties of the head of the republic. It is a great honor for me to receive the support of the residents of the republic and the President of our country for the second time. Over the past years, together with you, we have already taken concrete steps for the development of our republic. People from other regions started talking about Buryatia on the central TV channels. Our countrymen in Moscow and other regions proudly say: “We are from Buryatia!”, Alexey Tsydenov said during his appeals to the guests of the ceremony.

Speaking about plans for a second term, the head of the region noted that “the forced conduct of a special military operation, economic pressure on our country” may affect “our plans and capabilities,” also suggesting that “somewhere we will have to tighten our belts.” At the end of his speech, Alexei Tsydenov promised to “make every effort and do everything in his power to ensure that there is peace and prosperity on the land of Buryatia.”
