The governor of the Oryol region supported the development of sambo in the region

In 2024, the Oryol region will continue to develop the sport of sambo. This was reported at the reporting conference of the Regional Sambo Federation. The event brought together many high-ranking officials, including Governor Andrei Klychkov.

According to information from the press service of the regional government, the head of the region noted that the regional Sambo Federation is becoming the organizer of vibrant sports initiatives that promote the development of Sambo in the region and contribute to the formation of a healthy and strong young generation capable of standing up for the honor of the state.

Last year, on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of sambo, the First All-Russian competitions in this sport among rural youth were held in the Oryol region, and now these competitions are planned to be made annual.

The governor also emphasized that the development of sambo continues on the basis of the Olympic Reserve School, and thanks to the systematic work of like-minded people and the support of the authorities, more than 30 sambo clubs and sections have already been opened in the Oryol region. In addition, last year about 10 million rubles were allocated to strengthen the material and technical base of this sport.

Today, 1,904 people practice sambo in 12 districts of the Oryol region. These figures indicate the growing popularity of sambo in the region and require its further development.
