Belgorod athletes won 14 medals at karate competitions

Belgorod residents won 14 medals at the annual All-Russian karate competition “Peter the Great Cup”. Athletes over 12 years old took part in the competition.
Gold medals went to Daria Banatskaya in the up to 52 kg weight category among girls 12-13 years old, Roman Pryadkin in the up to 55 kg weight category among boys 12-13 years old and Yana Tyrkalova in the up to 48 kg weight category among girls 16-17 years old.
Third places were taken by Valeria Bychkova, Kristina Chernykh, Ekaterina Makhorina, Denis Zmeev, Yulia Portnaya, Daniil Petrulyak, Ivan Polev, Zlata Tovysheva and Alexey Malkov.
Alex Kavyrshin won a silver medal in the weight category up to 45 kg, and Sofia Kotlyarova won a bronze medal in the weight category up to 36 kg at the interregional tournament, which was held for children aged 10-11 years.
Previously, Belgorod athletes of the Vershina Center for Adaptive Sports won prizes at the Russian Athletics Cup.
