The Russian government has increased social benefits by 12%, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said. According to him, the increase in payments will affect 46 different measures, including maternity capital. The amount of payment for the first child will be more than 580 thousand rubles, for subsequent children – more than 775 thousand rubles. The one-time allowance for the birth of a child will increase to 22.9 thousand rubles.

“From today, on behalf of the President, the amount of social payments, benefits and compensations is increased by almost 12%. Indexation is provided for in the federal budget and is a necessary part of the social protection system for citizens who need additional support,” said Mikhail Mishustin at the meeting government. Labor Minister Anton Kotyakov noted that the indexation of benefits will affect 16 million Russians.

“Including the increase in the size of maternity capital. For the first child, it will be over 580 thousand rubles, for the second and subsequent children – more than 775 thousand rubles,” he added. According to him, the amount of payments will also be increased for the disabled, children and pensioners.

Yesterday, January 31, the government published resolution on the indexation of social benefits by 11.9% from February 1. Indexation will affect benefits for families with children, guarantees for Heroes of the USSR and Russia and other categories of citizens.
