The government has prepared amendments to the legislation on hunting

The Russian government approved amendments to the legislation in the field of hunting and conservation of hunting resources. The decision was made at the meeting on September 15. About it informed government press office.
“The bill is aimed at regulating legal relations in the field of control and supervision activities in the field of hunting and conservation of hunting resources,” the press service said.
The amendments were prepared by the Russian government. The press service added that they would send the bill to the State Duma in the near future.
Details of the bill are not given. In July in the State Duma passed the first reading of the bill, in which Art. 40 of the Law on Hunting was proposed to be supplemented with a provision providing for the possibility of a permanent raid. The explanatory note noted that the application of this legal regime, introduced by amendments to the federal law on supervision in 2020 (No. 248-FZ), may be limited due to the incompleteness of the law on hunting.
In October 2021, the government commission on legislative activities approved changes to the legislation, according to which citizens will have to undergo training and pass an exam on knowledge of the hunting minimum requirements in order to obtain a hunting license. The bill was supposed to come into force on September 1, 2022. However, on the project page on regulation.gov.ru, it is currently at the stage of “Preparing a conclusion on the regulatory impact assessment”.
