The government has drawn up a positive opinion on the bill recognizing volunteers participating in armed conflicts as combat veterans. This was reported by the press service of the government.
“Volunteers participating in a special military operation will receive the status of a combat veteran along with the military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces. The bill on this received a positive conclusion from the government,” the report says.
In March, President Vladimir Putin signed a law recognizing combat veterans of participants in a special operation in Ukraine. In August, combat veteran status was common on doctors and civilian personnel of the army. Veterans also were recognized FSB officers participating in hostilities.
Pensions for combat veterans are increased by 32%. They are provided with tax incentives, benefits when paying for housing and communal services, state duties and when using public transport. They may qualify for better living conditions. They are supposed to provide vouchers to a sanatorium and preferential admission to universities.
