Employees of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia liquidated two Russians in Kabardino-Balkaria who were preparing a terrorist attack on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services, the Center for Public Relations of the law enforcement agency reported.

“The Federal Security Service in the framework of a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 30, part 2, art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Preparation for a terrorist attack” the activities of two previously convicted citizens of Russia, who, on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services, were preparing a terrorist act in the city of Chegem of the KBR on December 26, when detained in the suburbs of Nalchik, the said persons offered armed resistance and were neutralized by return fire, – leads TASS message.

According to the FSB, they were members of a terrorist society that operated in Correctional Colony No. 3 in Kabardino-Balkaria until 2021. After the attack, they allegedly planned to travel to Ukraine to participate in hostilities against Russia. At the site of the shootout, the investigators found a 2 kg improvised explosive device in TNT equivalent with striking elements, a machine gun, a pistol and cartridges.

A criminal case was initiated under articles related to the illegal acquisition and storage of weapons and explosives by a group of persons (part 2 of article 222 and part 2 of article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), as well as encroachment on the life of law enforcement officers (Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) .

FSB yesterday informed about the destruction of a group of Ukrainian saboteurs on the border of the Russian Federation. According to the department, the scouts wanted to get into the Bryansk region. They had foreign weapons with them, including German SIG Sauer submachine guns, ammunition for them and communication and navigation devices, as well as explosives with a total yield of about 40 kg of TNT. According to the FSB, the commander of the group was Yuri Gorovets, born in 1988, call sign “Svyatosha”. He was accompanied by two sappers – Maxim Mikhailov (born in 1990, call sign “Don’t drink beer”) and Taras Karpyuk (born in 1984, call sign “Tarasy”).
