Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, at a meeting with veterans of the Iran-Iraq war of 1980-1988 in Tehran, accused the United States and Western countries of inciting anti-government protests in Iran through the spread of rumors and disinformation, as reported by Al-Alam TV channel.
According to Raisi, the enemies of the Islamic revolution will not be able to achieve their goals and split the people of Iran by spreading lies. He stressed that the youth and all those who were deceived will be “taken into the arms of the motherland”, but the traitors, in turn, “will not have mercy.”
The Iranian leader added that the organization of the riots and unrest that broke out in Iran in mid-September 2022, were involved in “hypocrites, monarchists and counter-revolutionaries”, that is, all who opposed the Islamic Republic.
