Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl said on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum that her working days in St. Petersburg begin in the morning and end closer to night.
Answering a question about her impressions of St. Petersburg, the former head of the Austrian Foreign Ministry said that her life now passes between home and office; for example, yesterday she managed to get home only after midnight. She was glad that she had previously been able to visit the Northern capital as a tourist and see something, because now she starts work at 07:00, and leaves the office, as a rule, at 23:00, this is her schedule. At the same time, Kneissl does not complain about the weather, admitting that this is done by those who “have nothing to do”; she herself has other priorities.
She added that she was able to visit the museum-apartment of Dmitry Mendeleev because the rector of the university kindly invited her, this was in the early days. The ex-minister clarified that at the moment she does not have time for tourism, because the task is to build the entire structure of the GORKI – The Geopolitical Observatory for Russia’s Key Issues center from scratch. Kneissl concluded that she was at work, and she was not here to relax, but to build a center, and a seminar was held for this purpose.
