Putin signed a law on blocking sites for financial support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that allows out-of-court blocking of sites with calls to raise funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The document was published on the official portal legal information.

Ordinary citizens, regional and federal authorities will be able to notify the Prosecutor General’s Office about Internet resources on which it is possible to process a transfer in favor of the Ukrainian army. The innovation will allow you to block such pages more quickly.

The changes will affect the federal law “On Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection,” which already allows blocking Internet resources that justify extremism, false information about the Russian armed forces and materials from undesirable organizations.

The accompanying materials to the adopted law say that changes became necessary in the context of “intensified activities of NATO countries,” as well as the emergence of platforms and organizations that disseminate information about various methods of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This, as the documents say, poses a threat to Russia’s security.

The changes will also affect donations to religious organizations – only they themselves or their authorized persons will be able to do this. This was done, as stated in the accompanying materials, to combat fraud in the country.
