It is difficult to obtain internal Russian passports abroad. This was stated by the director of the consular department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexey Klimov. Thus, he commented on the proposal to issue not only foreign, but also internal passports of Russians abroad. The official emphasized that everything depends on the delivery of documents.

The conclusions were drawn based on the results of interdepartmental consultations. They walked for about a year. The proposal to issue internal passports to Russians abroad was voiced at the end of March by Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova.

She recalled that according to the current procedure, a compatriot living abroad must return to Russia to obtain an internal passport. Let us note that in Russia a decree has been signed according to which, in some cases, it is possible to present a digital passport instead of a paper one. But this does not eliminate the need to receive a document on paper. A citizen must do this at the ages of 14, 21 and 45 years.
