The flight attendant explained why you can't take off your shoes on planes

One former British Airways flight attendant told LADBible why you shouldn’t take your shoes off on a plane. According to Abby Dunn, such behavior is not only indecent in front of crew members and other passengers, but also unhygienic.

The reason lies in the fact that the same plane often makes several flights in a day, and the breaks between flights are too short, the flight attendants simply do not have time to thoroughly clean everything.

Typically, before boarding new passengers, crew members only have time to quickly remove large debris and wipe down major surfaces in the cabin. Therefore, according to Abby, floor disinfection is often not done well, which leads to the accumulation of dirt.

When a passenger takes off their shoes, dirt and bacteria from the floor are transferred to their feet, which can cause health problems. Dunn recommends bringing slippers on board if you find it difficult to wear shoes for the entire flight.
