A new tourist route between the Russian Khabarovsk and the Chinese city of Fuyuan, which is located in the Heilongjiang province, will become available to travelers in the near future.
Ekaterina Puntus, Minister of Tourism of the Khabarovsk Territory, announced this on a telegram channel and noted that the region was looking forward to this opportunity. According to her, visa-free tourist exchange is the most convenient and popular way to cross the border for both Russian and Chinese travelers, especially given the proximity of the borders of the Khabarovsk Territory and China.
Travelers will be able to get to the city of Fuyuan from Khabarovsk in about two hours, following the Amur River. This will be the first visa-free flight after a three-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ekaterina Puntus stressed that before the pandemic, the international route to Fuyuan was popular among citizens of both countries. In 2019, about 27 thousand passengers were transported on this route, which indicates its importance for both regions.
According to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the visa-free regime with China has been restored, and from August 1, China is ready to receive groups of Russian tourists. In July, the process of exchanging lists of tour operators with the right to send and receive tourist groups without issuing visas was completed.
