The first test flight of the entirely domestic MC-21 aircraft is scheduled for 2024. This was stated in the presentation of Yakovlev PJSC, which was shown by the company’s deputy general director for logistics, procurement and logistics Oleg Nesterov during the Moscow Aviation Week at MAI.

The new version of the aircraft has a Russian PD-14 engine, which replaces the American PW1400G. In addition to the engines, it replaces 36 systems, in particular the auxiliary power unit, as well as fuel and hydraulic systems, 33 of which are currently being tested.

The start of serial deliveries of the updated MS-21 is planned in 2024; by 2030, 270 models will be produced.
