The final of the Russian First League Championship took place in Arkhangelsk in the North-West zone

The best volleyball players of the North-Western Federal District of the country – the Pomorye team and guests from the Leningrad region – are fighting for a ticket to the final of the first league of the Russian championship at the Nord Arena sports complex. The fans’ stands are overcrowded. Arkhangelsk is hosting the North-West final for the first time as part of the Russian Championship.

“It’s a very good hall, you have a lot of fans, you support volleyball, Arkhangelsk is a beautiful city, we like everything,” said Sergei Krasavtsev, president of the AMKraS volleyball team.

For fifteen years, Pomorie athletes did not please fans with high results in volleyball matches, until the Pomorie volleyball team was revived. Today she is ranked among the strongest in the country. The teams exchanged victories in the two opening games. The first match ended with a score of 25:20 in favor of the volleyball players from Vsevolozhsk, the second match was left to the home team, who were frantically urged on by the home stands of the Nord Arena – 28:26. The second half of the meeting turned out to be no less stubborn. But luck was still on the side of the more experienced squad “AMKraS”. The match score is 3:1 in favor of the team from the Leningrad region.

Despite the fact that the guests turned out to be luckier and stronger, the Arkhangelsk team made it to the decisive stage of the competition in the first league of the national championship, which will be held in May in Kostroma.

The Pomorie volleyball club was revived last year. But not such a short period, nor a 15-year break, did not become an obstacle to a decent result.
