“It will be difficult”: the FFKKR assessed Valieva’s prospects for returning after disqualification

Honorary President of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Valentin Piseev said that it would be extremely difficult for Kamila Valieva to return to professional sports after disqualification.

Piseev noted that Kamila Valieva is a historical figure in figure skating in all aspects, and there has never been a leader like her in women’s singles skating.

“I would really like to hope that she will return, but I think it will be very difficult for her to do this. God willing, she is strong, but she has to go through so much now… And her strength, including moral, is also not unlimited,” he spoke out.

Valieva’s period of disqualification starts from December 2021, when the positive doping test was taken, and ends in December 2025. The defense insisted that the prohibited substance came into her possession by accident, due to the dessert her grandfather had prepared. However, the court found this version untenable.
