The Far East Swimming Tournament among persons with disabilities was held for the first time in the Khabarovsk Territory. The team of the 27th region won the team standings, showing the best result, reported in the regional government.
The championship was attended by athletes with lesions of the musculoskeletal system, vision, hearing and intellectual disabilities. Swimmers aged from 7 to 40 years old came to the start.
The second place was taken by the team of the Kamchatka Territory, and the “bronze” went to the team of swimmers of the Primorsky Territory. Swimmers of the host region of the competition became the winners in the team competition
These competitions combined two large-scale sports events in adaptive swimming – the region’s swimming festival for children and youth with disabilities “Swimming for a Dream” and the Far Eastern Federal District Championship.
The competition took place in a 25 meter long pool. They were attended by 180 people from the Khabarovsk, Primorsky and Kamchatka Territories, the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Amur, Sakhalin and Magadan Regions and Yakutia.
The Far Eastern Federal District Championship in the sport of persons with musculoskeletal disorders is a selection for the Russian Swimming Championship, which will be held in June.
