Thick fog, heavy rain, dullness – for a moment it seemed that the rock could not be overcome, but this was only a temporary fear. For some, this is the first experience in climbing at speed on a wet hill, but the difficulties only add excitement.

Two hundred people registered for the annual “Green Jumar”, but only 50 came because of bad weather. Participants had to overcome a rock with a safety rope under the guidance of instructors. Climbing competitions were held in Patrokl Bay.

Like last year, both experienced athletes and brave newcomers came.

The organizers called the high-speed ascent to a slippery wet rock with a slope of about 45 degrees not a competition, but a physical entertainment where anyone could overcome their fear of heights and test their strength. Most of the participants arrived when the rain stopped.

At the start, brave athletes from four to 99 years old with any level of training gathered. Beginners before climbing were offered to practice using a jumar – a device that allows you to climb a rope. Here, an awning and a tent were pulled up for the participants, where they left their things, changed clothes and put on equipment. It was rented for 300 rubles per set, newsvl reports.

There were four competitive tracks in total. As one of the participants admitted, she has experience of such ascents. But in the “Green Jumar” she participates for the first time.

“I have the most difficult route, and the weather conditions, of course, make themselves felt, it is slippery to climb. I think I got up well, but the speed was not enough speed,” shared Rodislava.

Neither the participants nor the organizers expected such weather, but the competition was not cancelled. The weather that day was not good for conquering peaks..

“It’s good that I put on good sneakers, they didn’t slip very much. But it was still difficult to conquer the rock, ”said one of the participants.

Experienced climbers reached the top in a minute, or even earlier, children and beginners spent more time. Someone conquered the height for about five minutes.

New experience, new emotions are stronger than fear, and the winners will receive useful prizes from sponsors – tents, backpacks, thermoses, sleeping bags. Separately, the winners in the family classification will be noted – they will receive a certificate for ten thousand rubles to purchase tourist goods.
