“I consider it necessary to consider the issue of legalizing the actions of non-state security structures to prevent drone flights,” the senator said in a conversation with TASScommenting on yesterday’s attacks drones in Moscow and Moscow region.

According to Artem Sheikin, this would help ensure the protection of critical facilities that are not under the protection of law enforcement agencies. We are talking about private security companies that ensure the security of important, but not protected by law enforcement facilities. At the moment, these enterprises do not have the right to shoot down drones.

At the end of April, in the Federation Council, at a meeting of the council’s section on digitalization, they discussed means of protection against drones. In particular, it was proposed to include the ability to prevent drone attacks as mandatory requirements in the anti-terrorist security passport of facilities. The corresponding proposal was sent to the federal authorities.

In the summer of 2022, President Vladimir Putin signed a law on toughening the requirements for the protection of fuel and energy facilities. In March of this year, Lukoil completed the creation of a corporate private security organization. Similar work is being carried out by Gazprom Neft.
