The Federation Council approved an increase in the maximum amount of guaranteed compensation for voluntary pension savings from 1.4 million to 2.8 million rubles. Voting results are published on the website of the Federation Council (.pdf). The insurance will be valid in case of bankruptcy of a non-state pension fund (NPF) or cancellation of its license.
The law will come into force from the day of its official publication. The document was prepared and adopted in order to implement the message to the Federal Assembly of Russian President Vladimir Putin. During his speech, he proposed to increase the amount of insurance coverage for pension savings to 2.8 million rubles.
