The Federation Council announced the preparation of amendments to the Labor Code on the protection of the labor rights of mobilized

The head of the social committee of the Federation Council, Inna Svyatenko, announced the preparation of amendments to the Labor Code (LC) of the Russian Federation, which will help maintain labor guarantees for mobilized citizens. According to her, the document is at the stage of development. In the near future it may be submitted to the State Duma.

“Now we are working on it. It is important that a person, when he leaves as mobilized and leaves his workplace, retains this place. We will work on amending the Labor Code in order to maintain labor guarantees and provide state support measures to the partially mobilized,” said Ms. Svyatenko, answering a journalist’s question (quoted by TASS).

She did not rule out that the Labor Code of the Russian Federation will fix measures for state compensation for citizens in case of loss of a job.

Head of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko informedthat, on behalf of the President, amendments to the legislation are being prepared to provide labor guarantees for the military. According to her, the current benefits for participants in the military operation in Ukraine, including medical and tax benefits, will be extended to those who fall under partial mobilization.

Earlier, journalist Alexei Venediktov (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation), citing the Russian Ministry of Defense, said on the Telegram channel that citizens called up for military service would be fired from their jobs.

“Yes that’s right. The basis for terminating the employment contract will be the same agenda of the military registration and enlistment office. According to paragraph 2 of the presidential decree, after conscription, citizens go to serve in the armed forces of the Russian Federation under a contract (paragraph 2 of the decree),” the defense department said, answering a relevant question.

Partial mobilization was announced Vladimir Putin today, 21 September. In the Ministry of Defense declaredthat they will call up 300 thousand reservists. According to the head of the department, Sergei Shoigu, partial mobilization will not apply to conscripts and students. The deferment will be given to employees of defense industry enterprises, as well as categories of citizens that will be determined by the government.
