The past secular week was completely captured art fair Cosmoscow in Gostiny Dvor and its satellite, the Blazar young art fair at the Museum of Moscow. They not only did a good job in terms of sales, but also again became a kind of September line of the secular class “A” (as well as “B”, well, and others). The only thing missing was a first-grader with a bell on the shoulder of a graduate. However, such a trick could be performed by old friends and co-hosts of many New Year’s lights on the Rossiya TV channel, Andrei Malakhov and Nikolai Baskov. The fact is that Mr. Malakhov has been collecting for a long time and on a grand scale (especially now that he has opened The Shining, a personal center for contemporary art in his native Apatity), while Nikolai Baskov made his debut at Blazar in an interest in contemporary art. Figure skater Tatyana Navka became another art debutant: she came to the Cosmoscow preview in the company of her friend, singer Jasmine Shor, and the next day she returned with her husband, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

However, she was not the only one who returned to the fair again. It’s generally a good idea to come after the crush of the opening in order to look at the art more thoughtfully and definitely not leave without a purchase. The most privileged buyers come on the opening day not at six in the evening, but early in the morning. But the most enthusiastic – the night before, when the editing ends. This is exactly what Ksenia Sobchak did, who flew away from the dinner of Evgenia Linovich and her brand Msterpeace from the Zoika restaurant, without waiting for a hot one. Together with Aleksey Karakhan, the artistic director of the Molodist camp site, she went to Blazar to buy a figurine of Serafima Sazhina “The Creature with Red Eyes” and some dishes.

Blazar co-founder Alexandra Lekomtseva notes with regret that this year there were half as many visitors (the opening evening does not count). Indeed, a year ago, related fairs were held not in parallel, but with a difference of a week: then Cosmoscow and its commander-in-chief Margarita Pushkina were unexpectedly forced to cede Gostiny Dvor to the Forum of Social Innovations of the Regions with the participation of Sergei Sobyanin and Valentina Matvienko (the forum was not held this year). “We felt that the visitors, who come to the fair as an exhibition of contemporary art, could not cope with two events, there were much fewer of them. Whereas visitors-buyers and collectors turned out to be more persistent, ”says Alexandra Lekomtseva, co-founder of Blazar. The average check of the fair was about 100 thousand rubles, and all young art was sold for about 40 million rubles.

What I noticed: if Cosmoscow maintained an approximate gender parity of the presented authors, then Blazar clearly set the tone for women. Moreover, breaking all stereotypes, even in the digital art section. For the quite traditional work of Anna Sladkova, a secular lady, the owner of the Welps healthy lifestyle application, Natalya Davydova, and a lady, about whom we only managed to find out that she was the patron of the Garage Museum, argued extremely hotly. The lady managed to book the work earlier, and Mrs. Davydova was inflamed with a feeling for the art object a little later – and decided to outbid it at all costs, no matter what it cost. They met at the checkout. In general, Garage cartridges do not give up easily, even in the face of such charming pressure. However, the next evening after the incident, Mrs. Davydova, having already calmed down, gave dinner at Turandot. There is now a special menu from Welps, which can be ordered at least twice in a row – there will be no harm to the figure.
