It is unlikely that artificial intelligence will bring about a Judgment Day for humanity similar to the scenario of the movie “Terminator”. This opinion was expressed by the chairman of the ethics commission in the field of artificial intelligence, Andrei Neznamov.
According to him, with the development of AI, they began to talk more often about such risks, but it is everyone’s business to believe in the film’s script.
“The events that have occurred around OpenAI show that we are approaching something where we need to be very careful. I believe that he [Судный день] is unlikely,” Neznamov commented on this scenario to the publication Life.ru.
According to the expert, the only thing experts know is that events will develop unpredictably and we need to prepare for any scenarios.
Neznanov added that artificial intelligence is beneficial and perfectly complements life.
As for replacing humans with AI in some professions, the expert suggested that this is possible in the field of transport. For now, Neznamov emphasized, such technologies work in an experimental format and people will have time to prepare.
Previously, experts predicted that “digital copies” people can appear “in the horizon” for 50 years. In their opinion, human avatars will be able to replace him, for example, in dangerous types of work.
It is stated that digital twins are already used in medicine. Such an avatar, loaded into the doctor’s computer, eliminates the need for a personal visit to the patient, but allows one to predict when and how seriously a person will become ill. The technology helps in the early diagnosis of diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, experts said at the AI Journey conference.
