In Russia, rye bread may soon become more expensive – President of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevsky spoke on the radio about the reasons for the rise in prices with reference to the flour millers’ union “TVNZ”.
According to the expert, the alarming news about a possible shortage of rye bread is caused by the desire of individual producers to raise the price of rye flour. This is due to the fact that wheat flour has risen sharply in price, and rye is still being sold at a low price.
There is no noticeable shortage of rye bread, Zlochevsky noted, and the current rye harvest will be good. According to him, such rumors are spread based on economic motives. The President of the Grain Union expressed hope that prices for rye bread will not increase after speculation with information.
