Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education Olga Kazakova on radio “TVNZ» told how the new law banning the use of smartphones during class will operate.
She explained that such innovations were necessary because most children do not listen to the teacher during the lesson, but sit on their phones. Parents cannot monitor their children when they are at school, and teachers are unable to provide quality lessons.
Kazakova noted that the new law replaced “means of communication” with “means of radio-telephone communication.” Thus, it will not be possible to use smartphones and watches that contain a SIM card. All other devices that are available in schools can be used as an addition to the educational process.
In addition, each school will independently monitor the implementation of the law. Educational institutions have the right to decide for themselves how this process will be organized. For example, children may leave mobile phones in their own lockers or on personal shelves. You can also ask to keep your mobile device in your backpack. Students can bring equipment with them, but teachers do not have the right to confiscate it.
