The expanded composition of the Russian national football team for the September training camp was approved

The coaching staff of the Russian national football team presented the expanded squad for the September training camp in Novogorsk. In total, the list includes 36 players. For the first time, defenders Sergey Volkov (Krasnodar) and Viktor Alexandrov (Pari NN) and midfielders Alexander Chernikov, Nikita Krivtsov (both from Krasnodar), Alexander Yushin and Andrey Egorychev (Ural) can hold training camps with the national team.

According to listpublished on the website of the Russian Football Union (RFU), the training camp will be attended by goalkeepers Matvey Safonov (Krasnodar), Ilya Lantratov (Lokomotiv), Ilya Pomazun (Ural), as well as Mikhail Kerzhakov (Zenit) and Anton Shunin (Dynamo).

In addition to Volkov and Aleksandrov, among defenders, who will go to the training camp – Vyacheslav Karavaev (Zenit), Daniil Khlusevich, Georgy Dzhikia, Ruslan Litvinov, Daniil Denisov (Spartak), Artem Makarchuk (Sochi), Alexander Soldatenkov (Wings of the Soviets), Dmitry Skopintsev (“Dynamo”).

They will also go to Novogorsk midfielders Dmitry Barinov, Artem Karpukas, Anton Miranchuk, Maxim Glushenkov, Sergey Pinyaev (Lokomotiv), Danil Glebov (Rostov), ​​Daniil Fomin (Dynamo), Anton Zinkovsky (Spartak), Maxim Mukhin, Ivan Oblyakov ( CSKA), as well as Alexey Miranchuk (Atalanta) and Alexander Golovin (Monaco).

To participate in the fees are also approved forwards Nikolai Komlichenko (Rostov), ​​Alexander Sobolev (Spartak), Konstantin Tyukavin (Dynamo), Ivan Sergeev (Zenith), Fedor Chalov (CSKA).

The training camp in Novogorsk will begin on September 4 and will last until September 12. The RFU clarified that the friendly matches of the Russian team will be announced later.

On February 28, 2023, UEFA and FIFA excluded Russian teams and clubs from all international tournaments. The decision was made against the backdrop of the entry of Russian troops into Ukraine in 2022. Due to the decision of UEFA and FIFA, the Russian national team was unable to play in the play-offs for reaching the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and the Russian national team is also not participating in the selection for Euro 2024. The RFU’s bid to host the European Championship in 2028 or 2032 was also rejected.
