The former head of the territorial department of the Federal Property Management Agency in the Primorsky Territory has been arrested. He was accused of facilitating fraud with property obtained illegally, the regional prosecutor’s office reports.
According to investigators, from January 2022 to March 2023, the accused organized the acceptance of documents on the destruction of property belonging to the state. He presumably knew that only a small portion of the property was used to fulfill the destruction contract, with the remainder being retained and put back on the market.
It is noted that the defendant also contributed to the appropriation and sale of property obtained illegally. As a result of this, the victim, not knowing about the illegal origin of the goods, purchased more than 3 thousand sets of tools for a total amount of about 5.5 million rubles.
A criminal case has been opened under the articles “abuse of official powers”, “complicity in the sale of property obtained illegally” and “complicity in fraud organized by a group”. The accused was arrested for two months.
