The European Parliament imposed reparations on FIFA: you will have to pay the families of the dead migrants

On November 24, the European Parliament voted in favor of a resolution calling on the International Football Federation (FIFA) to take a financial part in compensating the families of migrant workers who allegedly died building stadiums and other sports facilities during the preparations for the World Cup. MEPs also require FIFA to pay reparations to workers affected by violations of rights and working conditions in Qatar. In addition, the adopted resolution contains regrets about other violations of “Western democratic freedoms.”
According to Reuters, the government of Qatar did not go unnoticed either, to which, in the same resolution, European parliamentarians were asked to be more frivolous in respecting traditional family values and relationships.
The reaction of FIFA and the government of Qatar to this document of the European Parliament is still unknown.
