The European Commission (EC) on Wednesday, September 28, intends to announce the details of a new package of sanctions against Russia. This is reported Politico with reference to high-ranking sources.
The interlocutor of the publication said that the EC intends to propose the imposition of sanctions on Russian oil by setting marginal prices for it.
At the same time, the European Union is going to soften some sanctions, in particular, by lifting the ban on the transportation of Russian fertilizers, cement and some other products.
Earlier it was reported that the EU intends to conclude an agreement on setting a price ceiling for Russian oil within a few weeks.
At the same time, on September 13, the EC refused to set a price ceiling for Russian gas, since they could not reach a consensus on this issue within the bloc.
