Acting Governor of the Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo said that the entry for civilians to the right bank of the Dnieper is closed for seven days. It will be possible to visit this part of the region only with the passes of the commandant’s office for employees of supply companies. He also stated that 5,000 people had left Kherson over the past two days. He noted that they were not going to surrender Kherson to Ukrainian troops.

“At the moment, it is necessary to allow the armed forces of the Russian Federation to effectively perform their functions to protect the Kherson region. After the normalization of the situation at the front and the solution of all the tasks set, the region will return to normal life, ”he said in a video message to Telegram channel.

Mr. Saldo said that all divisions and ministries of the civil administration of the Kherson region are moving to the left bank of the Dnieper. Today, October 19, an organized departure of teachers, doctors and other public sector employees will also begin. He added that the relocation of residents of the region is organized at the expense of the federal budget of the Russian Federation.

“Already today, all the power structures that are in the city – the military-civil administration, all departments, ministries – are also moving to the left bank. Management for this period will be carried out from the left bank, ”the governor said on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel (quoted by TASS).

“We are not going to surrender the city,” he said.
