An endocrinologist listed the main causes of numbness in the fingers
Numbness of the fingers occurs quite often, and the reasons for this phenomenon can be very different, said endocrinologist Alexey Zhito.
According to him, numbness in the fingers can appear at any time of the day. He named one of the possible reasons as anemia, in which hemoglobin in the blood decreases and blood may flow abnormally into the fingers.
Another possible reason is atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular pathologies, which also lead to circulatory disorders. Other causes include hypothyroidism, diabetes, and lack of vitamins. In such cases, numbness may be accompanied by loss of strength, lethargy and fatigue.
The doctor also warned that numbness in the fingers could be a symptom of a myocardial infarction. Zhito recommended that if such symptoms appear, avoid self-medication and consult a doctor.
