The Eleventh International Film Festival “Let’s Live” has finished its work.

The closing ceremony of the film festival “Let’s Live” was held at the Central House of Cinematographers. This year the jury awarded the Grand Prix for the best film to the film “Accomplices” directed by Yevgeny Grigoriev.

This is a story about a 10 year old boy. His father is killed, the perpetrator goes unpunished. The child and his older comrade are looking for the killer and are trying to take revenge. Pavel Derevyanko in this film played the main villain and received a prize in the nomination for best male role.

In the nomination “Best Director” in feature films, Tatyana Fedorovskaya received for the film “White Whale”.

Artem Anisimov won the Best Cinematography category in a feature film for his film Mondays. Agrippina Steklova won the Best Actress award for her film Day of the Dead.

According to the selection results in the nomination “Documentary”, the first place was taken by the film “Chechnya and the World”, the second was awarded to the film “Fire” and the third – to the film “Babiy Krai”.

This year the festival is dedicated to the celebration of the Day of Russian Cinema and the 100th anniversary of the formation of the USSR. The opening film was the 2019 film “Never Make Comedies” directed by Elina Zhukova, filmed for the 95th anniversary of the birth of the Soviet and Russian film director Eldar Ryazanov.

“Today, in our cinema, interest is shown in a person. This is very important. We have very good acting work, with great difficulty our jury members managed to choose the main winner, because very worthy work. I really liked the work of our friends – Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Remarkable, both acting and in general, the pictures are very good, ”said Evgeny Gerasimov, chairman of the organization of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, from the stage of the Cinema House.

The competition was held in three categories: “Full-length feature films”, “Documentary films”, “Short feature films”. More than 400 filmmakers from Russia, the USA, Israel, South Korea and the CIS countries became participants.

In the first category, films from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia were presented. The jury included director and screenwriter Dmitry Astrakhan, actress Yanina Studilina, cameraman Igor Klebanov, Honored Artist of Russia Maxim Averin, director Olga Pankratova and others. The main competition program of the show took place at the Central House of Cinematographers.

“The competition program was really curious, dramatically interesting. Many films are worthy, great, cool! It was difficult for the jury to choose the best. I think that first of all, it was a camera season, with incredible shots – it’s insanely interesting. And I am very glad that the cinema continues, with which I congratulate all of us, ”said Maxim Averin, one of the jury members, in his voice message, displayed on the screen of the Cinema House.

The film “The Seagull” (directed by Margarita Terekhova, Russia, 2006) became the closing film of the film festival “Let’s Live” – the screening is timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the popularly beloved actress.
