The State Duma proposed increasing fines for foreign agents for lack of markings tenfold
Russian State Duma deputy Evgeny Fedorov proposed increasing fines tenfold if foreign agents previously punished for lack of markings evade paying the fine. The parliamentarian sent a corresponding letter to the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev, writes RT with a link to a copy of the document.
Currently, the fine for lack of marking for individuals varies from 30 to 50 rubles, and for legal entities – from 300 to 500 thousand. For 2022-2023, fines totaling about 1 billion rubles were imposed on persons recognized as foreign agents in Russia. According to Deputy Fedorov, many foreign agents live abroad and evade punishment.
According to current legislation, if the fine is not paid within the prescribed period, it doubles. A State Duma deputy proposed amending the administrative code in favor of increasing this fine tenfold.
Previously, the media published list of property owned by Russian celebrities-foreign agents, and which can be confiscated in accordance with the amendment to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation recently adopted in the third reading on the confiscation of property for fakes about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In particular, it included mansions, houses and apartments.
