The State Duma has developed a project to completely ban the sale of vapes in Russia

State Duma deputies have prepared a bill banning the sale of vapes in Russia. According to the bill, the sale of nicotine or its derivatives, including nicotine salts, as well as liquids with nicotine and nicotine-free liquids, as well as devices for their use, is prohibited. Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor and Social Policy from the LDPR, one of the initiators of the bill, said that signatures are currently being collected for the bill and consultations are being held on this document.

Nilov noted that the bill will soon be submitted to the State Duma for consideration. The authors of the initiative draw attention to the growing number of teenagers vaping – according to research, by 2023 the number of such cases will increase 10 times compared to 2011.

Earlier, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin noted that places selling vapes (electronic cigarettes) should be closed due to the illegal sale of these products to minors. He stressed that it is necessary to tighten punishment for violators, since the health of children depends on the sale of these products.
