The Duma called on Simonyan to apologize to Siberians

State Duma deputy from the Kemerovo and Tomsk regions Oleg Matveychev said “Gazeta.Ru”that RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan, who proposed a nuclear explosion over Siberia, does not associate herself with Russia and does not understand the importance of the macro-region for the Russian Federation. He was also surprised that Simonyan had not yet apologized to the Siberians for her words.

“It would be decent and honest to apologize to the residents of Siberia,” the parliamentarian believes. “The person, apparently, does not associate himself with Russia and Siberia,” he said. “For her, Siberia is some kind of abstraction.” “She doesn’t understand that this is the Motherland for someone,” Matveychev pointed out. “And that this is a great treasury, thanks to which Russia feeds and exists.” Siberia, as he recalled, “is all our hydrocarbons, which provide us with half of the budget.” “There are actually people who are working on this,” “there are cities worth millions,” for her it’s all an abstraction,” he believes.

The deputy believes that Simonyan traveled more around the European and American continents, but “has never been to Siberia.”

The day before, Simonyan, in the ChTD program, proposed organizing a nuclear explosion in the atmosphere over Siberia as a weapons test. In her opinion, “if you make an explosion hundreds of kilometers away,” nuclear winter will not happen. No one, she thinks, will die from cancer, but all radio electronics and all satellites will fail.
