The Duma banned the disembarkation of disabled people of group I from public transport

The State Duma adopted in the second, main reading a bill that proposes to prohibit the forced disembarkation of disabled people of group I from transport for ticketless travel.
This document was submitted for consideration in March 2022 and adopted on first reading in October. It is proposed to amend the Charter of Road Transport and Urban Land Transport by adding Article 20. The main proposal is to prohibit the forced disembarkation from transport of disabled people of group I who travel without an escort and refuse to pay for travel.
At the moment, the law prohibits the forced disembarkation of vehicles only for children under 16 years of age for stowaways.
According to the amendments to the second reading, the law will enter into force on September 1, 2024.
