The Dominican Republic sent hundreds of children without parents to Haiti this year

Hundreds of children have been expelled from the Dominican Republic without their parents amid massive government efforts to expel alleged undocumented migrants from the country, according to UNICEF.
The UN Children’s Agency has taken in at least 1,800 unaccompanied children brought by Dominican immigration authorities to Haiti since the start of the year, a spokesman told CNN.
The spokesman also said that many are arriving without identification and “going” to the country among deported adults, raising the question of how Dominican authorities determined they belonged to Haiti at all.
