The scammers wanted the woman to take out loans from different banks
The 63-year-old ex-wife of the famous rock musician, founder and lead singer of the Zoo group, Mike Naumenko, who suffered from the deception of telephone scammers, spoke in detail about the criminals’ scheme. The deceived lady will have to repay the loan if the villains are not caught.
As MK learned, on October 9, when a woman was traveling on public transport, she received a call from an unknown number. The widow responded and was stunned by the news that the scammers were allegedly trying to apply for a consumer loan using her personal data. To stop the actions of the attackers, it was necessary to obtain money from a bank of 400 thousand and later return it to the bank. The pensioner was given a detailed briefing over the phone, in which they explained that she was participating in a secret operation that no one should know about. The strangers also explained what to tell bank employees, how to apply for a loan, and where the money would need to be taken later. In the evening of the same day, the woman filled out an application for a consumer loan in her personal bank account for 400 thousand rubles. The next day she received information that a loan amount of 92 thousand rubles had been approved. The scammers instructed me to go to the bank and get money in cash. With the deduction of insurance, 75 thousand rubles remained on hand. Next, the scammers sent a message with the address of the ATM where funds should be deposited. The lady transferred the money to the dictated account in six transfers. Despite this, the cunning people convinced her to take out a loan for 400 thousand rubles from another bank. There, employees of the financial institution carried out multiple checks on the client: they sent her to her bank for a statement and asked about the purpose of the loan. In the end, they approved the loan, but did not give her any paperwork to sign, because they realized that some kind of swindler was behind her actions.
The pensioner was taken to the security office, where they explained that she was participating in a fraudulent scheme. After long conversations, the widow came to her senses and felt bad. The application for the second loan was canceled. Relatives of the widow of the lead singer of the Zoo group wrote a statement to the police. Fraudsters are being sought. It is not yet possible to cancel the first loan.
