The density of the crowd in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior has reached the limit: a stampede has begun

At noon, when communion began at the liturgy with the participation of the Rublev Trinity, the density of the crowd reached its limit. In addition, believers felt all the temperature contrasts in the temple: on the one hand, the heat from candles and human bodies pressed close to each other, on the other, a piercing chill from the air conditioners operating at full power. It is not clear to what extent these differences were felt by the fragile icon, which placed it at the epicenter of the church festivity, but those present experienced climatic contrasts.

“How hot,” a woman sighs heavily in the crowd of those who decided to take communion. Although half an hour ago, when the crowd was not so dense, some were shivering from the cold air from the air conditioner. “But what if I die during communion?” Another woman jokes sadly, squeezed between people that she can’t breathe. “Let the pregnant woman go, she was completely beaten,” the third pleads, pointing to the tearful girl. The Cathedral of Christ the Savior is already crowded, but people still stay. However, none of the incidents (who was pushed in the side, whose leg was poisoned, who was doused with a birch branch) does not reach the point of conflict, despite the fact that there are a lot of people and most are tired of standing in the crowd for several hours.

Following Communion, Patriarch Kirill comes close to the icon case with the “Trinity” and reads a prayer, standing face to face with the Rublev icon. Everyone is filming a historical moment on the phone: here it is – the benefit performance of the Trinity, about which only the lazy did not gossip in recent weeks.

By the way, the promised employee of the Tretyakov Gallery, who was supposed to be next to the icon all the time, appeared at the window only at the very beginning of the service, and then disappeared from the “stage”. But the employees of the National Guard stand relentlessly, although it is not entirely clear why. The central square of the temple is fenced off, so that no one, except for the clergy, could approach the icon anyway.

However, many believers generally do not pay attention to the sensational heroine of the church action. “In any case, I would come to the service, it is important for me, but whether there will be a Trinity or not, not at all,” said one of the parishioners, leaving the church after communion.
