The heart stopped after lunch, but this was not noticed immediately

The famous Soviet automobile designer Anatoly Titkov, who celebrated his centenary in February of this year, passed away in a nursing home. He was rightly called the father of the Ural truck. For his invention, Titkov received the USSR State Prize and was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor three times.

As MK learned, the scientist’s heart stopped on Wednesday afternoon, but this was not noticed immediately. The pensioner fell asleep as usual, but did not wake up for dinner. The nurse could not wake him up and ran for the medical staff. According to the staff of the boarding house, the grandfather died of old age – he did not have dangerous diagnoses such as oncology, stroke or heart attack. He just became weaker and weaker every day. At first he stopped getting out of bed, then he began to lose his appetite. When his daughter visited him, he had difficulty recognizing her. He also did not recognize his former colleagues who came to visit a colleague.

By the way, Anatoly Titkov, who had the title of professor and a candidate of technical sciences degree, has dozens of inventions to his credit. He came up with the idea of creating the Ural-375 military truck, a truck tractor used for many years to transport missiles. While working at the Ural Automobile Plant, he supervised the development of 29 models of domestic cars. The designer also figured out how to increase engine power, installed a comfortable cabin on the frame and created an original assembly unit. His developments are still being implemented in modern mechanical engineering.
