As it became known to Kommersant, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Health Sergei Glagolev sent a letter to the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies with a request to provide access to the data of the labeling system to the Scientific Center for Expertise of Medicinal Products of the Ministry of Health (NTsESMP).
The Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies confirmed receipt of the letter and said that the appropriate access to the scientific center was provided. “These measures will make it possible to implement an additional point of control for the regulator using a marking system. The use of labeling data at the stage of examination of medicines will make it possible to nullify any attempts to introduce illegal drugs into circulation,” commented Yegor Zhavoronkov, head of the Pharma product group at the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies.
As Alla Trapkova, Deputy Director General of the National Center for Medical Emergencies, explained, the conclusions of the scientific center are subsequently transferred to the Roszdravnadzor system and used in making decisions on issuing permission to enter the drug into civilian circulation. “At the same time, control of the removal of samples received by the center from the labeling system is necessary to assess the number of drugs entering the market and prevent the re-throw of unaccounted packages into the market,” she added.
