Dalai Lama apologizes for asking Indian boy to ‘suck his tongue’
The 14th Dalai Lama apologized to an Indian boy and his family for an incident where he asked a child to “suck his tongue”. About it writes The Guardian.
“His Holiness wishes to apologize to the boy and his family, as well as to his many friends around the world, for the pain his words may have caused,” reads the Dalai Lama’s official statement.
Representatives of the Buddhist spiritual leader noted that the Dalai Lama often teases people in public, even when he is in front of the cameras.
At the end of February, the 14th Dalai Lama arrived at the Indian temple in the city of Dharamsala, where, while greeting the novices who graduated from the courses, a boy approached the spiritual leader and asked him to hug him.
The Dalai Lama kissed the boy on the lips and stuck out his tongue, asking him to “suck”.
