On September 16, the “Cross of the Nation” will take place in the capital of the republic, at two sites: races of 1, 2 and 3 km will be held on the Kremlin embankment, starting from the URAM extreme park. Distances of 4, 6, 8 and 12 km will be run at the Lokomotiv stadium, chairman of the city’s Physical Education and Sports Committee Linar Garipov said at a press conference.
Registration of Kazan residents and guests is underway, T-shirts with numbers are being issued at the Central Stadium. The “Cross of the Nation” has been held in Kazan for many years: runners of all ages gather and run along the wonderful embankment. The Credentials Committee at the Central Stadium works from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This year we decided to hold distances of 4, 6, 8 and 12 kilometers at the stadium; the necessary information is provided upon receipt of the number, Garipov clarified.
The extreme park also organizes GTO races: 2 km for girls and 3 for boys, everyone can participate, added Artur Sabitov, deputy chairman of the RPO “GTO” for Tatarstan.
The children will be the first to run one kilometer, then the veterans will run 1 km, said the chief judge of the competition, Gulnara Safiullina.
Next there will be a race for children with disabilities, as well as a GTO race; then the grand opening of the “Cross of the Nation” and a charity race from the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization “Good Kazan”. The result will be a mass race for everyone – to support health and positive energy.
