Meshchansky Court of Moscow collected 4.5 million rubles from Meta in a class action lawsuit by bloggers
The founder of the council of bloggers, lawyer Valeria Rytvina said on Tuesday that the Meshchansky Court of Moscow had recovered 4.5 million rubles from the company Meta Platforms (recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation), satisfying the class action lawsuit of Russian bloggers filed after the company left Russia.
According to Rytvina, as a result of the disabling of targeted advertising in Meta products, Russian entrepreneurs suffered direct economic losses and indirect losses, and the previously invested funds could only partially pay off. In addition, she pointed out that businessmen lost the opportunity to receive a predictable flow of applications from customers and were forced to direct investments to other sources.
The lawyer clarified that, from the point of view of the plaintiff, the losses of Russian entrepreneurs are directly related to the illegal actions of Meta, and not to the blocking of resources. She added that council bloggers continue to raise funds on foreign platforms to help the Russian army and conduct an effective information campaign on the enemy’s field, telling the truth. At the same time, as Rytvina noted, resources are invested in the development of accounts on domestic platforms.
