“The court found the information disseminated by Tinkov to be untrue, ordered it to be deleted and collected 20 million rubles from Oleg Tinkov as compensation for moral damage and material losses,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
In May 2022, Oleg Deripaska filed a lawsuit against Oleg Tinkov, demanding to recover 2 billion rubles from him. The conflict between the businessman began with a post by Mr. Tinkov on Instagram (owned by the Meta corporation, whose activities are recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and are prohibited), in which he called Mr. Deripaska a “thief.” The court found the published information to be untrue.
In March, the consideration of the claim against Oleg Tinkov was supposed to be transferred to the arbitration court of the Moscow Region at the place of registration of the defendant. Oleg Deripaska challenged the court’s decision, and the proceedings continued at his place of registration in the Ust-Labinsky District Court in the Krasnodar Territory.
