The Moscow Meshchansky Court fined political scientist Ekaterina Shulman (recognized as a foreign agent) 50 thousand rubles. for the lack of marking of a foreign agent in the materials (Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code), reported TASS. We are talking about two posts by a political scientist on the Telegram channel.
According to Mediazona (recognized as a foreign agent), in one of the posts dated May 28, 2023, Ekaterina Shulman wrote about the weather in Berlin, and in the second, dated June 11, she forwarded a post from the channel of actress Tatyana Lazareva (recognized as a foreign agent) with a video. In it, the political scientist talked about a charity auction in support of Ukrainian children.
The consideration of the case took place without the participation of Ekaterina Shulman and her representatives. The political scientist currently lives in Berlin.
Ekaterina Shulman reported RBC about the intention to appeal the court decision. “The law says that only messages related to the activities of a foreign agent are marked. The weather report and the quote from the Russian classics do not relate to the activities of a foreign agent. The court’s decision directly violates paragraph 3 of Art. 9 of the current law,” she said.
In August 2022, Ekaterina Shulman was first fined under a similar article for 10 thousand rubles. The Ministry of Justice recognized the political scientist as a foreign agent on April 15, 2022.
