The Kirovsky District Court of St. Petersburg banned a local resident from keeping more than two dogs in her apartment. This was stated by the joint press service of the city courts.
It is clarified that a woman living in house No. 23 on Leni Golikova Street filed a claim against her neighbor, who had been running a dog kennel in her apartment since 2016. As the applicant noted, at least eight adult dogs lived in the premises on a regular basis, as well as puppies that the neighbor sold through her kennel’s website. She added that because of the dog food supplied, there was a “terribly specific smell” in the house, which made it impossible for residents to ventilate their apartments.
Now the St. Petersburg woman is obliged to reduce the number of dogs permanently residing in the apartment, as well as pay her neighbor compensation for moral damages and reimburse her about 70 thousand rubles for legal expenses.
