The court arrested the singer Charlotte on charges of justifying Nazism until January 24

The Kirovsky District Court of Samara placed under arrest the singer Eduard Charlotte, accused of rehabilitating Nazism and insulting the feelings of believers. The young man admitted guilt at the meeting.

“To choose a preventive measure for Eduard Charlotte in the form of detention for a period of 1 month 25 days, that is, until January 24, 2024 inclusive,” the judge said (quoted from RIA Novosti).

25-year-old Eduard Charlotte was born in Samara and lived there until he left Russia, condemning the military operation in Ukraine. On November 22, he was detained upon arrival at St. Petersburg Pulkovo airport. Regarding the singer excited three criminal cases: two under the article on the rehabilitation of Nazism (Part 4 of Article 354.1), another under the article on insulting the feelings of believers (Article 149).

Charlotte became famous after the release of the album “Forever Young” in 2019. It included the song “Cheek to Cheek,” the video for which received 14 million views on YouTube. In June, while abroad, the singer posted a video in which he tore the St. George ribbon stretched between two stone walls in the shape of the letter Z. On June 26, he published a video where he burned his passport and said about his desire to leave for Kyiv.
