The court arrested ex-footballer and blogger Savin in absentia in the case of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces

The Tverskoy Court of Moscow arrested in absentia ex-footballer and blogger Evgeny Savin, known under the pseudonym Krasava, in a case of discrediting the Russian army. This was reported by representatives of the court’s press service.

According to the press service, the court granted the request of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the arrest in absentia of Savin, who is accused of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, committed by a person after he was brought to administrative responsibility for similar act within one year”).

It is noted that the arrest was chosen for a period of two months from the moment the ex-football player was detained or extradited to the Russian Federation. He was previously put on the wanted list.
